Laura Markus, recruiting and student program consultant, Birmingham.

How long have you been with the company? One and a half years.

What are your current job responsibilities? Primary recruiter for the corporate office and the program coordinator for the SNC co-op program.

What do you love about your job? On a daily basis, I have the privilege of speaking with hiring managers, candidates and students. My job allows me to speak with a wide range of diverse people. Talking to people is one of my favorite things to do, so I guess I am in the right position. 

Hometown: Dora, Alabama.

First job ever: Recruiting intern.

Favorite food: Macaroni and cheese.

What is your favorite movie and why? I am super nerdy, and I love Harry Potter!

If given the chance, who would you want to be for a day? Melinda Gates because she has the opportunity to help so many people and to make a difference.

What are your hobbies? Reading, traveling, cooking, and volunteering are my passions.

What interests you about nuclear energy? Nuclear energy is fascinating because it is so efficient, and it requires minimal fuel for a high output of power. I remember the first time I visited a nuclear power plant -- it was awe-inspiring.
