Cynthia Werneke, shift support supervisor, Vogtle 3&4

How long have you been with the company? Seven years

What are your current job responsibilities? I just completed license class at Vogtle 3&4 for my senior reactor operator license Letter. My current responsibilities include supporting the Vogtle 3&4 project, reviewing operating procedures and developing programs within the Operations department.

What do you love about your job? My favorite part is the constant change and continuous learning involved with new nuclear technology. Being part of a construction project at Vogtle 3&4, my job is constantly developing and adapting as the project continues toward commercial operations.

Hometown: Suffolk, Virginia

First job (not your first job at SNC): My first job was as a tour guide of a Revolutionary War Camp in Yorktown, Virginia. I gave tours to the public on various aspects of daily life for an American soldier in the 18th century.  

Favorite food: Ice Cream

What is your favorite movie and why? Right now, my favorite movie is Moana mainly because it’s my daughter’s favorite movie.

If given the chance, who would you want to be for a day? Audrey Hepburn for her grace, style and humanitarian work.

What are your hobbies? Running, yoga, kayaking, hiking, reading and going to the beach. I take every opportunity to be outside.  

What interests you about nuclear energy? Knowing I have an impact on providing a clean energy source is extremely rewarding. It’s a challenging industry, and I’m constantly learning.
