Camp isn’t cancelled, it’s just virtually at your fingertips

For many kids, summer is a time to get out of the normal routine and to explore new experiences by going to camp, making new friends or participating in a summer program at a local community center. With many of these activities cancelled, here are a few ideas to help quell any summertime blues and help still give the kiddos a fun summer camping experience.

Camp Wonderopolis

Happy Camper Live

This interactive online camp offers one of the most comprehensive virtual camp experiences out there. Happy Camper Live is a multimedia portal to hundreds of camp adventures and experiences so you can customize your child’s camp experience. Kids can flip out with a gymnast, spike a volleyball with a national high school champion, or learn a new art, craft or musical instrument. Activities range from ages 5 to 18 and the cost is $4.99 per month.

Girl Scouts Online Camps

The Girl Scouts are offering online camps all summer long. Scouts can learn how to code, act, play scavenger games and even learn about cybersecurity. Most of these activities will also help Scouts earn badges, not to mention keep them connected and have fun!

Lavner Online STEM Camps

Lavner camps have all the virtual interaction your STEM kid will need this summer. Their camps range from math olympics, science camp labs, game design, graphic design, coding and more. Lavner also offers online gaming tournaments as a part of camp – how cool is that?  Activities range from ages 6 to 14 and cost $299 for a weeklong camp. They also offer financial assistance to as many families as possible for kids to have the opportunity to attend. 

Kallpachay Online Spanish Camps

Kallpachay is helping kids learn the Spanish language through exploration of the cultures of Guatemala, Bolivia and Venezuela. Kids will interact with native speaking counselors in small virtual groups and learn based on their experience and age. Activities range from ages 6 to 14 and cost $225 for a weeklong camp.
