Site Vice President, Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant
Charles Kharrl is site vice president of Plant Farley. He began his career in the nuclear industry after serving as a nuclear propulsion plant operator (machinist mate) in the U.S. Navy. In 1994, he went to work for Detroit Edison, where he took on roles of increasing responsibility, including operations control room supervisor. In 2004, he joined Florida Power & Light as operations unit supervisor. Three years later, he moved to Arizona Public Service, eventually serving as operations manager. He became director of work management at Palo Verde Generating Station in 2013, then vice president of site operations before assuming his current role, where he oversees the operations of Plant Farley’s two units. Kharrl has held Senior Reactor Operator licenses at Palo Verde, Enrico Fermi Nuclear Generating Station and St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant. He graduated from the Naval Nuclear Power School and earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Arizona.
